Our 17th, and final, Edition
Greetings, friends …
With mixed emotions, we’re proud (and sad, and hopeful, and many other things) to present Transition: our seventeenth and final Edition.
As we explained in May, sustaining Editions while paying contributors fairly has been challenging. So in June we launched Adventure Ramblings, embarking on a new storytelling journey. Alongside the Adventure Uncovered Film Festival, it means we’ll still be agitating for a more engaged, critical outdoor culture – in chorus with the growing number of folks doing the same these days.
Transition features stories about climbing as a trans person, cycling as a naked person, and mountaineering as an Indigenous woman. It finds meaning in wilderness vigils, fancy dress, incarceration, and urban hiking.
It gathers stories about transition from around the internet, from space-balloon tourism to fleeing home as wildfire engulfs the street. And it retraces our steps through Editions past, finding transition in snowboarding, sheep crawling, backyard adventuring, video gaming, pilgrimaging, and more.
Thank you so, so much to every contributor, reader, collaborator, sponsor, Patreon member, and friend who has helped bring Editions to life. It’s been a wonderful adventure. Here’s to the next chapter!
